Job Summary
The Field Technician is responsible to provide operational support in reconstruction efforts for customers. Must be well grounded in fundamentals of carpentry and tool usage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to take direction from experienced carpenter and supervisor
- Move and protect contents without damage
- Construct appropriate containment for construction dust, dirt and airborne contaminant in working area
- Using appropriate tools and accepted company methods to perform tasks related to floodcutting, salvaging and labeling baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc.
- Develop full material knowledge as it relates to types, purposes, grades and uses for trims, doors, cabinetry
- Develop proficiency in installation of various forms of insulation
- Develop under supervision knowledge of Framing, Trim installation, cabinetry installation
- Develop under supervision ability to "dry-in" a building as it relates to roofing material installation
- Learn and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation processes
- Perform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition
- Must maintain attention to detail
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Will be required to work on-call, nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically
- Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately
- Attend company sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
- Coordinating a small crew of unskilled laborers on most residential projects
- Answer simple questions about the project and when to defer questions to more qualified personnel
- Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks
- Perform emergency services as needed - - board Ups, securing building against further damage
- Additional other duties as required
Job Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Construction-related training or technical training desirable
- Certifications in Concrete and Soil desirable
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements involve body movements including walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists and fingers. Will stand the majority of the shift and have the ability to help with the unloading and loading of products from trucks and warehouse shelves. The senses of being able to see and hear and have full Power of speech are necessary. Lifting cases that can weigh up to fifty pounds is required.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary will be based on experience and skill set. The salary range is $17.50/hour to $25/hour.
